A dog tag embossing station is a staffed, on-site production line where each guest orders a personalized stainless-steel military-style tag from a touchscreen and a computerized embossing machine stamps it in about 20 seconds. CEG Interactive runs the stations with its own ordering software, two operators per machine, and up to four load-balanced machines for crowds of 3,000 or more, at events nationwide and beyond.
Our live dog tag embossing service is the perfect way to engage your guests and create lasting memories. Imagine the excitement as your attendees watch their personalized military-style dog tags being embossed right before their eyes.
DOG TAG EMBOSSING ON PHL17 MORNING NEWS
What the segment shows
PHL17 Morning News, CW 17 Philadelphia, visited the PGA HOPE booth at the 2026 PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club, where CEG Interactive ran live dog tag embossing for tournament week. The segment follows the whole process: a guest enters a name, callsign and message on a touchscreen, the order routes to a computerized embossing machine, the stainless tag is stamped in about 20 seconds, and it is handed over on a ball chain with a printed PGA HOPE companion tag. About 4,000 tags were made over six days on two machines, with PGA HOPE veteran ambassadors working the front of the booth.

WHAT YOU GET
The same computerized CIM embossers the U.S. military issues tags on, not a hand punch. Raised characters on a 2 by 1⅛ inch rolled-edge stainless blank, with a stainless ball chain and a silicone silencer included.
A bank of tablets on our own private network shows a live preview of the tag as guests type. Locked sponsor lines, an optional email step, and a limit on repeat orders are all set before doors open.
Our crew runs production and the pickup table; your team or ambassadors work the front. Setup two hours before service, strike in thirty minutes.
AT A GLANCE
DOG TAG EMBOSSING: THREE WAYS TO RUN IT
Fits receptions, hospitality villages, trade-show floors and tournament weeks where the line is the activation. 120 to 240 tags per hour per machine; guests choose their own lines; needs 6 by 8 feet, power and two operators. The ceiling is the machine count, so 800 or more guests in a two-hour window want two stations.
Fits place cards at a seated dinner, room drops, registration packets and site-visit gifts. From 100 tags, alphabetized, chains attached on request, ten-day lead. No footprint, no power, no line, and no callsign moment or data capture.
Live embossing plus a pre-printed full-colour logo companion tag on the same chain, as PGA HOPE ran with 10,000 printed tags, or back-of-house embossing from your guest list with a front table where guests add a callsign. Fits sponsor-funded activations where the logo must be on metal.
A live station at 120 to 240 tags per hour serves about 500 guests per machine over three hours. A pre-embossed batch has no ceiling but no moment. The hybrid costs a few dollars more per guest and needs a month of lead time. One machine covers about 500 guests, two cover 500 to 1,000, three cover 1,000 to 2,000, and four cover 2,000 to 3,000 or more. The 2026 PGA Championship station made about 4,000 tags in six days on two machines.
EMBOSSED DOG TAGS: MATERIALS, COLOURS AND ADD-ONS
| The Standard Tag and Every Way to Customize It | ||
|---|---|---|
| Choice | Spec | Fits |
| Stainless rolled-edge military tag (standard) | 2 × 1⅛ in, matte; stainless ball chain; black silencer | Everything. It reads as issued. |
| Aluminium tags | Same footprint, lighter, colour-ready | Brand palettes and launches |
| Anodized colour tags | Black, blue, red, green, purple, pink, gold, silver | Sponsor colours, colour-coded groups |
| Coloured silicone silencers | Eleven stock colours at no charge; custom Pantone by quote | Brand match; quiets the tag on a chain |
| Pre-printed event-logo companion tag | Full colour, one or two sides, rides on the same chain | Sponsor-funded activations |
| Chains and attachments | 24, 27 or 30 in stainless, black, gun-metal or brass; 4 in key-ring chain; carabiner; bag strap | Necklace, key chain, bag tag |
| Packaging | Polybag, printed backer card, kraft box, velvet pouch, tin | Gifting tiers |
The standard tag is the one guests recognize: a stainless rolled-edge blank stamped with raised characters, on a 27-inch ball chain, with a black silicone silencer around the rim. Silencers quiet the tag and hide the outermost character on each line, so the colour choice comes before the line limits are set. Aluminium and anodized colour tags take the same five lines and 18 characters, so sponsor colours cost nothing in production time.
Logos are not embossed. A logo goes on a pre-printed companion tag, the silencer colour, packaging and signage, or a laser-engraved reverse ordered in advance. Pet-shaped and luggage-shaped blanks are laser stock and go out as a pre-made batch.
HOW DOG TAG EMBOSSING WORKS ON SITE
- Guests tap START on a tablet showing your logo.
- They type up to five lines, such as name, callsign, phone or a message, and watch the preview update as they type.
- Optional: an email, text or cause opt-in step. PGA HOPE saw about half of guests leave an email.
- The order routes to the nearest machine and the tag is stamped in about 20 seconds.
- Chain and silencer go on at the pickup table, sorted alphabetically at large events.
Our service delivers a full-service dog tag embossing experience, complete with:
- State-of-the-art Embossing Machine: We bring the authentic military-style embossing machine directly to your event, capable of creating high-quality, customized dog tags on the spot.
- QR Code Registration or touchscreen ordering: Guests simply scan a QR code with their smartphones to access a user-friendly interface for designing their dog tag, or order at one of our touchscreen ordering stations.
- Personalized Text: Each dog tag can be customized with up to five lines of text, numbers, or characters (max 18 characters per line). Guests can add their name, nickname, call sign, phone number, or any other personal message.
- Branded Tags: Reserve lines to include your company name, event name, date, and location for a lasting memento of the occasion.
- Stainless Steel Ball Chain: Every dog tag comes with a durable ball chain necklace for immediate wear.
- Friendly and Professional Staff: Our trained staff will be on-site to assist guests with the embossing process, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone.
- Unlimited Dog Tags: We provide unlimited dog tag embossing during your contracted hours, so every guest can take home a personalized souvenir.
- Convenient Pick-Up: Finished dog tags are neatly organized at a designated pick-up table, allowing guests to collect them at their convenience.
Is it loud? A stamping tick every 20 seconds, quieter than a bar; the silencers stop chain rattle. Can guests make more than one? You decide before the event: one per person, one per email, or open. What if the venue has no internet? Nothing changes, because the ordering network is ours. Can you rent us the machine without staff? No. The machines travel with our operators, which is why the throughput numbers above hold at every event.
The ordering screen, in your brand
Guests fill in the lines that are theirs: a name, a callsign, a message. The lines that are yours, such as the event name, date and sponsor, are set before doors open and stamped the same way on every tag. The start screen carries your logo and a review screen shows the finished tag before it prints.
Touchscreen order flow, recorded on the station software.

CBS News Philadelphia, live from the tent
CBS News Philadelphia went live from the PGA HOPE tent at Aronimink Golf Club during the 2026 PGA Championship, where spectators lined up to have personalized military-style tags stamped on the spot. The reporter types her own lines at a touchscreen, the embosser presses raised letters into stainless steel, and the finished tag is on its chain in under a minute. PGA HOPE introduces veterans to golf, and every guest carried that message home.

Most aviation-themed programs pair the tags with one or two photo pieces. The combinations we set up most often on the Midway and at Miramar:
Pair the tags with our green screen booth and a fighter-jet backdrop, prints on site.
Add our AI booth for fighter-pilot portraits that match the tag.
